To book testing for your application to the Essa Township Fire Department, please ensure you read the following instructions:
1. For more information on the Firefighter Aptitude and Character Test™ (FACT™), please visit the Firefighter Aptitude and Character Test™ (FACT™) page on our website.
2. To book the Firefighter Aptitude and Character Test™ (FACT™), please create an account on our website by visiting https://www.ofai.ca/user/register
3. Once you have an account, you can book one of the two options below.
- July 28, 2020 from 6pm to 9pm - Essa Recruitment – Stage One - Firefighter Aptitude and Character Test™ (FACT™) Test
- July 30, 2020 from 6pm to 9pm - Essa Recruitment – Stage One - Firefighter Aptitude and Character Test™ (FACT™) Test
4. You will be required to complete the OFAI Testing Mandatory COVID-19 Screening and Declaration Form immediately after booking my test. We require this to confirm your booking. Please note that it is a generic form. Part Two of the form may not apply to this assessment. You can find this form at https://www.ofai.ca/ofai-testing-mandatory-covid-19-screening-and-declaration
5. Once you have booked online, you are required to email a copy of your recruitment letter to the OFAI at info@ofai.ca. This is a requirement.
6. Please ensure you download and read the Stage One - Essa Fire Department FACT Test Pre-Assessment Guide from our website so you know what is involved and where to go.
7. Once you have confirmed your booking, we recommend that all candidates purchase the Firefighter Aptitude and Character Test™ Candidate Orientation Guide from Fire and Police Selection Inc. by visiting https://www.fpsi.com/product/fact-orientation-guide/ .The cost of the orientation guide is $15.00US.
8. If you pass the FACT test, your certificate will be uploaded to your online account and accessible by you within 72 hours of your assessment.
9. If you are planning on booking our hearing assessment, please contact our office at 905-426-6756. Our customer service coordinator will assist you with booking this assessment at our test facility in Mississauga.
