Essa Fire Recruitment Instructions

Update August 4, 2015 - Please be advised that the date to have all the information returned to the Essa Fire Department has been extended to Friday, September 11, 2015 at 5:00 p.m.  The office is located at Station One in Thornton at 34 Robert Street.

To book testing for your application to the Essa Fire Department, please ensure you read the following instructions:

1.  To book the National Fire Select Test, please create an account on our website.  

  • Once you have an account, visit our online calendar at www.ofai.ca/event-created/month and select the "Essa Recruitment - National Fire Select Test" option available on the testing date you prefer.  
  • Once you have booked online, you are required to email a copy of your recruitment letter to the OFAI at info@ofai.ca.  This is a requirement.
  • Once you have confirmed your booking, ensure you download the Stage One - National Fire Select Test Pre-Assessment Guide from our website so you know what is involved and where to go.  
  • If successful your certificate will be uploaded to your online account and accessible by you within 72 hours of your assessment.

2.  If you are planning on booking our medical assessment, please visit our online calendar at www.ofai.ca/event-created/month.  (You must have already created an online account)

  • You will be selecting "Medical Screening Renewal".  
  • In the Order Comments section, please advise us that this is for the Essa Fire Department Recruitment.  
  • Once you have booked online, you are required to email a copy of your recruitment letter to the OFAI at info@ofai.ca This is a requirement.  
  • If you are planning on booking BOTH the National Fire Select Test and the Medical Screening,  PLEASE IGNORE THE APPOINTMENT TIME AS WE WILL NOT BE ASSIGNING ONE TO YOU.  Once you complete your National Fire Select Test successfully, you will automatically go into the queue for the Medical Screening.  
  • Failure to comply with the above instructions may subject you to an incomplete registration and you may lose your assessment fee.  
  • If you are planning on booking these assessments on separate days, we will assign an appointment time to you for the medical screening.
