July 22, 2020 - Update to the CTS Program 

Please note that we have suspended Stage Two - Encapsulated Treadmill Test and Stage Three Firefighter Physical Aptitude Test.  All candidates booked have been sent an email outlining this interuption. Please read the full announcment here: OFAI Testing Interuption Notice

July 7, 2020 - OFAI Re-Opening

We will be resuming our candidate testing program, on a limited basis, on weekends only, starting on July 18.  You will be able to book testing on our website, starting on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 after 9:00am.  The administration office will re-open on Thursday, July 9, 2020.  Please note that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, testing will be opening on a gradual basis.  Testing is available on a first come, first served basis.  There will be no re-scheduling and we have a strict cancellation policy.  All candidates booking testing will be required to complete the OFAI Mandatory COVID-19 Screening and Declaration Form upon registration.  Additional details will be posted on our website shortly.  To ensure you have the most up-to-date information, please join our email mailing list by signing up here: http://eepurl.com/bjziVX

May 11, 2020 - Update

Please note that the OFAI remains closed, as per the provincial restrictions.  As restrictions are lifted, we will be working with the testing facility on our re-opening procedure to ensure the safety of our candidates and evaluation staff.  All candidates will be notified by email on updates to our re-opening plan.  If you do not receive our emails, you can sign up by completing the form here: http://eepurl.com/bjziVX.

Many questions have been emailed regarding the extension of candidate certificates. The OFAI will not be extending any certificates. It will be up to individual municipal fire services to grant leniency on expiration dates, in which the OFAI has recommended.

ALL TESTING FOR APRIL AND MAY 2020 HAS BEEN CANCELLED. IF YOU HAVE BOOKED AN ASSESSMENT YOU WILL RECEIVE AN EMAIL FROM OUR OFFICE. PLEASE BE PATIENT AS WE DO NOT HAVE STAFF IN THE OFFICE. WE WILL GET TO ALL CANDIDATES AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

In light of the recent announcement made by Ontario Premier Ford regarding the Coronavirus pandemic, the OFAI Administration office will be closing effective immediately

You will not be able to book any testing during the closure, and phone calls made to the Administration office will not be answered. We will be monitoring the info@ofai.ca intermittently, but please note that only emails of an urgent nature will be replied to.

If you have testing booked for April or May 2020, your assessment is cancelled. We will notify all candidates by email, when staff become available. 

The COVID-19 pandemic continues to be a rapidly evolving situation so at this time it is unclear when will re-open. We will provide further communication as soon as this information becomes

Please Note: OFAI testing is cancelled effective immediately due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

It is out of an abundance of caution, and for the safety and well-being of our candidates and the OFAI evaluation team, that all OFAI testing is hereby cancelled effective immediately due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

At this time, we are unclear when testing will resume, however, further communication will be provided once new information becomes available. If you currently have testing booked over the next few weeks, please be assured that the Administration office will work with you to reschedule your assessment. You will not lose your testing fees. However, we do ask that you do not contact our office to reschedule. Additionally, please do not purchase a duplicate assessment on our testing calendar.
